I didn't attend Main Animania last weekend because it was my sister's birthday! Yay! From what I heard, it was quite bad so I am a little happy I did not attend. ^o^
I've been meaning to do a lot of shoots this year but things keep getting in the way and I also keep falling sick (I've only just recovered from a bad cold I obtained at my own 21st birthday) but I apparently have a PreCure All Stars shoot coming up (that I keep forgetting about) and apparently a beach shoot! Don't ask me what I'm cosplaying to that shoot because I'm not yet sure myself. ^^ Fingers crossed it will be good!
Yes! I had my 21st about two weeks ago! It was pretty small but it was amazing catching up with friends, some I hadn't seen for years, and some coming all the way over the Blue Mountains just for me! Living so far away from so many of my friends really does hinder me but I completely understand how out of the way I am. Although I do see everyone quite often, with ~Rukia-McKee
living at least 90 minutes closer to the city than I do and having a fair amount of our friends up his way hahaha!
I got a loooooot of Spotlight vouchers for my birthday, plus my sister bought me Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD ReMix, which I've been flying through, despite not playing the PS2 version for years! I've also been playing a butttonne of Animal Crossing: New Leaf and the original Pikmin but for the Wii! I bought myself a Wii U a while back and my sister bought us a PS3 so we have four consoles in the house now (the other two being my 3DS and my sister's 360), and we have plans to get the PS4 so we're having a lot of gaming fun these days!
I've also been watching so much anime, I cannot even. A lot of new seasons came out this year for anime I really loved so Symphogear, God Only Knows and Tamayura (plus DokiDoki PreCure) have been taking up a lot of my time. My favourite I'm currently watching is Aikatsu!. Idol anime have boomed in the last few years and I am loving this new genre since watching the iDOLM~ster
set the stage for the rest of them! I have been watching Free! but only because I absolutely love Kyoto Animation studios. They did my favourite anime of all time, CLANNAD, and they've just gotten better and better since then. Hyouka was an absolute masterpiece by them and I cannot wait to see what they do in the future!
For those wondering, I am a Game Grumps fan (as a few of my journals have pointed out, I watch/listen to them quite often), and Jon's leaving of the show did disappoint me for the last two months but I heard a clip of Arin and Dan a few days back and it made me realise I should not have stopped watching Arin's antics just because Jon wasn't there, and Dan has made the show very fresh! I haven't watched an episode yet where I haven't laughed! I have been marathoning it like crazy and hope to get through all of Arin and Dan so I can finally test out Steam Train, seeing as Ross is Australia HAHAHA. It had me quite depressed for some crazy reason but I feel myself picking up a lot now so hopefully I'll have more motivation now yay!
Also, I cleaned out my deviantArt. Some things happened recently and I decided this would be the best thing to do...so the first three years of my cosplay life no longer exist on dA, nor do some other cosplays I did in 2009 and 2010. The good news about that is it gives me the opportunity to go out and shoot the cosplays I really want to keep on deviantArt and show you all!
Next year, I'm letting loose and cosplaying Super Smash Bros. 4's Mega Man to Sydney Supanova one day and Pokemon Black 2/White 2's Rosa to SMASH one day! We're still in the process of choosing out our other two cosplays for those conventions but I can guarantee you they will be brilliant! A friend has approached me about cosplaying Digimon Frontier with himself and his brother so I might finally cosplay Kazemon next year! Yay! Of course I convinced my fantastic partner to join in with me hahaha. The opportunity to do a dream cosplay (I've loved Kazemon since Frontier first aired on free-to-air here in Australia back in 2004 or something) really is hard to pass up so I'll keep you all updated on if it's happening in 2014!!
We most likely won't attend Animania again, although that's suggesting it survives past next year. It is sad Animania has gone downhill so much, considering it was my first convention in 2006, but all good things must come to an end, right? Despite how it goes out, 2006-2007 were still its best years and the only two years I attended only one convention a year. ^o^
That's all from me for now! I updated our Facebook page almost as much as I update deviantArt, which obviously isn't much, but I hope to be using it more soon! I just never know what to update so everything I use is quite dormant. Thank you all so much for supporting me as I continue to cosplay as long as I can! Here's hoping I get a lot more dream cosplays done in the future!
So I decided to join the Facebook page army, with a joint page for ~Rukia-McKee

"If I wanted just one thing in my life to be forever, it would be my obsession to download more Anime than my computer could hold, buy more manga than can fit on my shelf and watch all the endless episodes of Pokemon until the day Ash finds out he's adopted. THAT is what the cosplaying life is about."
